Just like regular underwear….how to best care for your Modibodi underwear

Welcome to the next evolution of women’s underwear, designed in Australia, and made for women by a woman who knows firsthand what women really need in underwear.

Modibodi is the most comfortable women’s underwear in the world. Because we believe comfort equals awesome fit, great feel and hi-tech function that protects you when you need it most.

We offer the perfect fit with styles for all occasions (everyday Classic bamboo underpants or a little more glam with our Sensual bamboo underpants) and designs to fit all shapes and sizes. We use luxurious and superior fabrics for the perfect feel, and we use patent pending fibre technology in the gusset or lining to keep you dry, fresh and protected. Choose from either leak-proof if you need more moisture support (eg periods, light bladder leaks, discharge) or moisture wicking if you just want to eliminate sweat and odour: but most importantly all of our products are cared for in the same way – just like regular underwear!

Modibodi underwear is machine washable. Preferably a gentle cold machine wash and hang to dry for a sunkissed feel.

Quick tips:

  1. Hang your maternity singlet from the bra straps to avoid stretching the fabric.
  2. Use a laundry bag to wash your modibodi garments. Natural fibres wash well, but don’t like zippers!
  3. No fabric softeners and strong detergents eg. stain removers, please! It breaks down the hi-tech function of our garments and also reduces the durability of the fabrics and trims, so they won’t last as long
  4. Once dry, store your Modibodi garments in a dry laundry bag for extra protection (just like your winter jumpers) – as they are made from natural fibres such as wool, little nasty bugs such as silverfish do like to take a bite!

With these care tips, your Modibodi garment will last as long as your regular underwear.

How do they perform overnight? I would usually get leaking from above the back end of the pad, or sometimes over the front.

Great question Heather. Every woman’s body is different, however we’d recommend our moderate absorbency level for medium flow, however if you feel you have heavy flow, you may be keen on our heavy brief due to be launch in the first half of this year. Hi Amelie,
      Thank you for your comment.
We’d always suggest washing any garment you purchase.
We hope you enjoy your Modibodi’s.

I have several pairs of Modibodi and usually air dry but about to go on holidays. Can they go in the dryer? I want to use laundry services at the hotels but they will use a dryer so hoping they’ll be ok as air drying them in a tropical climate will be tough!

Hi! Can I just rinse it out, hand wash, air dry and re-wear a pair within a day? Say an overnight pair – I wake up and rinse them out and hang them out to dry, then could I wear them that night?

  4. Nicola says:

I’ve just tried out my first pair and rinsed and washed as described but found they were still a bit smelly, so I gave them a 2nd wash. Just wondering if it is ok to soak them for a few hours or overnight? Just in water…?

    • Liana, Marketing says:

      Hi Nicola,
You can soak them in plain white vinegar and then rinse and was as per normal and dry in the sun. This should help.

  5. Kirra says:

The how to care instructions state you can care for them just as you would normal undies: does this mean After use I can put them with the dirty laundry until washing day? Or do I need to soak them to remove the blood before it dries???????

      • Meg says:

        Hi,
I find the care instructions a tad confusing too. So while some customers may prefer to soak them, can you literally just take them off and put them in the laundry pile until wash day? At what point do you have to rinse them? Straight away upon taking them off or just before you put them in the wash?

    • Karen says:

      Hi Nadine,
Please ensure you are rinsing your underwear after each use (rinse until the water runs clear), then place them in the washing machine on a cold, delicate cycle with washing detergent (but no fabric softener), then to dry place in the sun with the gusset exposed to the sun – this allows all layers to dry effectively. If you have any further issues please contact info@modibodi.com.au
      Thank you!

I have only had my modibodi underwear a few months and I have noticed that they take on average two days to fully dry. I have been hanging them on a basement line that I use regularly for other items, I have not had this problem before. I am concerned that being wet for so long will damage my undies or cause bacteria to grow. Do you have any suggestions to speed up dry time?

    • Liana, Marketing says:

Hi Amy, Thank you for your feedback. Our underwear should dry in the same time as standard underwear. You could try turnining the underwear inside out so that the liner is facing the sun and this may help speed up the drying process.

Advice on how to remove the gummy residue left on the gusset upon removal of the hygiene sticker. It’s left a horrible mess and is still sticky to the touch even after 2 hand washes and a gentle machine wash. Only affected the bamboo everyday briefs, the seamfree brief stickers came off easily. I’m afraid a heavy duty wash will effect the technology? I’m also wondering how the technology is going to work successfully given there is a covering of sticky plasticy residue in the area I need it to absorb most! I’m considering returning the other pair as it’s possibly a fault? The sticker is too sticky and undermines the product. Look forward to hearing any suggestions.

Hello I’d really love to buy some of your underwear but I’d like to get the right size. Unfortunately I don’t ‘fit’ the ‘usual’ sizing. I have a measurement of 103cm over my hips and my waist is 96cm. What size would you recommend?

  9. Susie says:

I plan to use modibodi overnight initially and have only 2 to 3 pairs. I appreciate that a mahor win is that they can be treated as normal underwear but as I live alone I only do loads of washing once a week. What is the best and quickest method to rinsh/wash/care for my garments on rotation so they can be used twice per cycle (ie every 3 nights?). It would be super useful to have a brief section about the different methods you recommend. Ie: 1)rinse in shower and put in normal washing.2) hand wash in ?? And hang to dry. 3) soak in xx, rinse and hang to dry. Thanks!!
