“Together we can create great
change and meaningful impact.”
–Kristy Chong

We know its awkward, it can be embarrassing and sometimes just down right terrifying to talk about bodily leaks periods, incontinence, menopause, pregnancy, and perspiration.

Modibodi is committed to encouraging open, frank, real conversations about our bodies natural changes – let’s face it if your young or old or somewhere in between we all have leaks!

But if you’re doing it tough then managing leaks and getting on with life can be even tougher. That’s why we work with partners to address:

Period equity – because everybody deserves dignity. We donate products to people who may not be able to access products.
Normalising conversations on taboo subjects around bodily leaks - we use our platforms to advocate for and share knowledge on periods, incontinence, menopause, postpartum

2.3 billion people globally lack basic sanitation services.

Give A Pair - Let’s create period equity together

Every dollar you donate goes towards putting a five pack of reusable, leak-proof underwear into the hands of people who need them. Together we have donated over 125,000 pairs of pants. That’s over $2,500,000 worth of underwear and dignity for many.

Our Partners

Education

We talk plainly, and positively, about periods and we’re committed to developing young people’s knowledge about bodies, period health, physical and emotional changes and menstruation management options. We work with exceptional partners to supply sample reusable underwear for school education programs – including ‘teaching the teachers’ about the importance of planet-friendly period product options for the next generation.

Our Parters are amazing: Ready for Red in Europe, My Vital Cycles and the Sustainable Period Project in Australia, Bloody Good Period and IRISE in the UK, and Period Place in New Zealand. We support international advocacy groups such as Period Equity in the US and the Menstrual Health Hub by Madami Germany.

Our Actions

Periodensystem, Germany

Periodensystem donated 500 Modibodi bundles to marginalised communities in Germany.  Each bundle contains 5 pairs of underwear, on average this is enough to last one person a full menstrual cycle with a wash in middle if necessary.

The Good Box

The Good Box is a social enterprise creating beautifully packaged gift boxes for those experiencing homelessness as part of its mission to abolish misconceptions, prevent isolation and increase communication.

Modibodi has donated 10,000 pairs of period underwear for women who have experienced domestic violence as part of the new ‘YouBeauty Box’ Christmas appeal.

Katalyst

30% of Fiji’s population lives in poverty. The Katalyst Foundation is dedicated to changing the narrative for these people by enhancing the advancement of Education, Health, Social Welfare, Infrastructure and Employment and Training.

Modibodi and Katalyst are providing women and young girls the opportunity to continue going to work and school during their menstrual cycle with reusable underwear.

Maasai Water Project

Most Maasai women have no menstrual products, so they ‘free bleed’ and wear black, handwashing the same outfit each day and staying away from school and social interactions.

Those who do have access to pads dispose of them in open pit toilets, while those in more primitive living conditions sit in a hole away from their village until their cycle is over.

The Maasai response to Modibodi has been overwhelming. The women ‘LOVE’ their reusable undies, enjoy feeling dry and dignified during their period – or to manage the bladder leaks many experience after giving birth to multiple children.

Plan International Australia, the charity for girls’ equality

In 2021 Modibodi proudly donated 22,250 pairs of underwear (our biggest donations yet) to improve the menstrual health outcomes for girls and women in Laos. Embedded into a WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) and menstrual education program, women and girls are being given long lasting period management solutions.

Women's Health Tasmania

Having a period shouldn’t cost the earth. Modibodi is working with Women’s Health Tasmania on The Undies Project to promote sustainable period product options to people in need in the Hobart City Council area.

Modibodi x NATSIWA
Indigenous Scholarships

Modibodi is providing 10 Aboriginal women with $1000 scholarships to help further their university education in partnership with NATSIWA as part of our commitment to ‘lifting up other women to help them achieve their potential’ and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to achieve their educational goals and use their voice within their community.

NHS donation

At the height of the pandemic in the UK, NHS staff were working around the clock fighting COVID-19…and finding time to take bathroom breaks was near impossible. With their capacity to absorb up to 10 tampons’ worth of fluid, Modibodi’s Maxi-24hrs underpants made it much easier for staff to manage leaks while working long shifts, so we donated close to 800 pairs to NHS staff in need.

Good360

We’re partnering with Good360 in Australia on a pilot program to provide reusable leak-proof underwear to victims of family violence, refugees and vulnerable youth. Good360 connects new and surplus goods to a network of over 2700 charities and disadvantaged schools by acting as a ‘matchmaker’ connecting products to people in need.

Rethink Period by City to Sea

Modibodi donates reusable underwear to go into Rethink Period’s free educational period product boxes which help school teachers and nurses in the UK open conversations about periods and explore more sustainable ways to manage menstruation with school students.

Mai Movement, Hawaii

Mai Movement is committed to fighting period poverty in Hawaii and has donated 2,500 pairs of underwear to help the fight. 1 in 4 menstruating people experience period poverty and they should not be faced with the monthly decision of whether to buy period products or put food on the table for their family.

Thread Together

Modibodi’s partnership with Thread Together began in support of the Australian flood victims in March 2022 providing underwear donations and financial aid to assist with the affected regions recovery. We are excited to continue our partnership with Thread Together throughout 2022 to continue to support people in need right across Australia.

Irise, United Kingdom

Irise is a global leader in menstrual health programming, research, advocacy, and policy development, transforming peoples’ lives through period equality. Irise is supporting over 15 grassroot organisations by providing education and sustainable, reusable period underwear that is sensitive to gender, culture and disability specific needs.

Support the Girls, Australia

“Transformation of the individual and transformation of the community unfold simultaneously.”

Support the Girls advocate for disenfranchised and isolated women in rural and indigenous communities empowering women to escape the cycle of poverty, violence, trauma, or structural oppressions.

Modibodi donated over 1,400 products to Support the Girls in 2021.

The Period Place, New Zealand

We love that those who are able to accept period underwear are covered with their period for a few years, instead of needing to reach out every few months for support. We've had feedback from many telling us how it's created so much ease for them during their period, knowing that each month they're prepared and don't need to worry about the financial strain period products cost for them each month.”   Danika Revell, CEO

Modibodi has so far, proudly donated over 6,000 pairs of underwear to the cause.

Melbourne Girls College

Melbourne Girls College are on a mission to create plastic free period schools in Victoria, Australia. Modibodi’s pilot program encourages the introduction of reusable menstrual products in schools. The girls absolutely loved trialing Modibodi underwear as a sustainable alternative to disposable products.

Women Win

Women Win is a women's fund guided by the vision of a future where every girl and woman exercise their rights. The fund aims to advance gender justice through a decolonised approach by shifting power, reallocating, and redistributing funds into the hands of people, groups, and organisations who are experts in their own work and contexts. Together with Puma, Modibodi has donated 2,500 pairs of underwear to help champion the rights of girls and women everywhere.

YMCA

YMCA is a valued organisation right across the world, passionate about nurturing youth potential and providing safe spaces for young people to grow, learn and thrive. In 2022 Modibodi has donated over 4,000 pairs of underwear and 500 pairs of swimwear to the Y NSW to support various youth programs.
